The debate of what is a suitable winter boot has been discussed since the dawn of time. Every winter, when we are forced to run all of our fashion decisions by Mother Nature, we must decide: do we choose fashion or function? Or do we give up and invest in a pair of snow shoes? This winter lest we never forget the boots of winter’s past, even the ones we wished never happen (I’M TALKING TO YOU, MOON BOOTS).

Pastel Uggs

Because if Uggs weren’t a dark enough time in my youth, they also came in a variety of pastel colors and knit textures-all of which I am guilty of trying. Not only did these fashion choices painful on the eyes, they also did absolutely nothing for my freezing toes and left me drowning in a sad puddle of damp feet. #NEVERAGAIN
Moon Boots

Quite possibly the most badass of the winter boot options for younglings, the Moon Boot was so heavy and rectangular it looked like a winterized full leg cast. Also, Paris Hilton rocked them for the better part of the early 2000s making them a must have collector’s item for any Simple Life enthusiast.
Winter Moccasins

My middle school self still holds a soft spot for winter moccasins, the furriest accessory I loved with as much passion as one would a small puppy. Although a little impractical when trekking through snow mountains and ice paved sidewalks, the feeling of feeling like a mink clad queen: priceless.
The Snow Day Boot

Although they are technically footwear, the snow day boot can double as winter tires, a tarp for camping, or an inflatable raft. They are the definition of LARGE N IN CHARGE because wearing them made you feel nothing short of invincible. (hyperlink I Believe I can fly).
And with that brief history you are ready to take on another season of winter boot-ery. HUZZAHHHHH
